Since taking on this role she has launched the 'Be the Change' campaign in association with petition platform change.org. As at November 2013 there were 50,000 girls on a waiting list to join a Girl Guide group Julie Bentley has called for more volunteers - "I don't want () to be a secret, because we want and really need more volunteers to come and join us so we can meet the growing demand." Julie Bentley is a former chief executive of the Suzy Lamplugh Trust and the Family Planning Association.
